Call 999 if you or someone else has any of these symptoms:
Signs of a heart attack
Chest pain, pressure, heaviness, tightness or squeezing across the chest.
Signs of a stroke
Face dropping on one side, unable to hold both arms up, or difficulty speaking.
Sudden confusion
For example, someone cannot be sure of their own name or age.
A suicide attempt
By taking something or self-harming.
Severe difficulty breathing
Gasping, choking, or unable to get words out.
Heavy bleeding
Bleeding that is spraying, pouring or making a puddle.
Severe injuries
Following a serious accident.
Seizure (fit)
Shaking or jerking because of a fit, or someone is unconscious and cannot be woken.
Sudden, rapid swelling
Of the lips, mouth, throat or tongue.
Labour or childbirth
Waters breaking, frequent intense contractions, the baby coming, or a baby that has just been born.
